POST-ABORTION COUNSELING
If you are feeling very overwhelmed with emotion and are experiencing difficulty after an abortion you may want to consider speaking with a counselor. Ask yourself the following questions:
Am I having trouble communicating with family, friends and co-workers?
Am I in more conflict than usual, at home, at work or in the community?
Do my worries get in the way of my day to day activities?
Am I eating, sleeping, drinking alcohol, using substances, smoking more or less?
Do I feel sad or angry, more than usual?
Am I numb?
If these questions prompt more concerns for you, a counselor might be a helpful way of sorting things out.
Counseling takes place in a completely confidential setting. If you would like to speak with a counselor about your abortion experience (whether the abortion be recent or in the distant past) you can make an appointment at the following pro-choice organizations:
